KAYAK
It's the best of white-water gliding!
You'll be seating on water with a double paddle. |
Beginners' kayaks are rather made of polyethylene than of fibre. They are between 2.50 and 3.50 metres long, 0.60 m wide and they weigh between 15 and 20 kilos. They include at least a seat, foot wedges, thigh wedges and floating tanks that ensure that the boats can't sink. The individual equipment is made of a complete suit, a double paddle, a waterproof "shirt", a life-jacket, a helmet and a pair of neopren boots to enable you to walk on rocks. |

The traditonnal kayak
image, as shown by the media, is that of a very technical and uncomfortable
activity, to be left to an elite of extraordinary athletes.
But kayaks have evolued a lot. Thus, the use of many different shapes, materials and teaching techniques now enable to meet the expectations of more and more people. You can enjoy straight away the joys of white water, on condition that you first keep yourself to rivers of 2nd category. Kayak means aestheticism, speed, comfort, an easy handling of the craziest tasks. But it also means cool rides. |
